Economic Development Queensland

Economic Development Queensland (EDQ) is a driving catalyst for economic growth through property and infrastructure partnerships across Queensland. The team works collaboratively with local governments and multiple industry stakeholders, to identify growth opportunities, facilitate and deliver infrastructure and property project solutions for the economic benefit of Queensland communities. The EDQ team act as a vehicle for industry innovation and demonstration. Prototyping may include and is not limited to infrastructure, planning, built form, water and energy solutions.

EDQ is a state government commercialised business unit that operates within the Economic Development Act 2012 (MEDQ Act). The business unit plays a key role in streamlining, facilitating and delivering property and project solutions for the benefit of Queensland communities.

Revitalising and rejuvenating sites through urban development creates new spaces for businesses to flourish (offices, retail, cafes), people to live, and communities to come together (parks and community facilities).

 

Industrial development

To foster economic growth and meet the demand for industrial property, land is available for sale or lease throughout Queensland.

 

Planning services and development infrastructure

To identify and investigate potential areas for declaration as Priority Development Areas and facilitate planning, infrastructure planning and assess development applications in declared PDAs.
